He is a native of Dallas, but after nine years of service in the United States Navy, he decided to make San Diego his home. He has served as a performance poet since 2002, and for the past six years he has been apart of the spoken word ensemble Collective Purpose, who are also the organizers of ELEVATED, one of Southern California’s largest spoken word venues. He has been performing with his band, The Lyrical Groove for two years.
