40th Resolution Run
Join us in either a 5K-run
or 1-mile fun walk in Balboa Park at 6th Avenue and Laurel Street. The
event is open to adults, children and dogs of all ages with a $5
participation fee.
The event begins with a "Fitness Oath" at 12 noon. as all race participants pledge that they recognize “health of the mind and body is a sacred gift and … hereby resolve to strive for optimum personal fitness during the year 2010”. The Fitness Oath encourages community members to participate in the Downtown YMCA’s on-going campaign to maintain healthy lifestyles.
Various gifts will be raffled and awards will be presented to runners, including first man, woman, teen, child and dog. Downtown YMCA member and master’s track athlete, Rita Hanscom, will also be honored with an Award of Excellence for winning five individual gold medals at the 2009 World Masters Athletics Championships.
Cost: Only $5. Children under 12 and dogs are free. However, donations will be accepted to benefit the local low-income and homeless youth the Downtown YMCA serves.
Registration: Register at event. Registration starts at 10:30.
