THE Y FOR
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
We focus our work in three key areas, because nurturing the potential of kids, helping people live healthier, and supporting our neighbors are fundamental to strengthening communities.

You Can Help Your YMCA!
The YMCA staff and volunteers are committed to creating and maintaining a place for youth, families and seniors to go to grow strong in spirit, mind and body. We are committed to making sure that every YMCA member has a quality experience at the YMCA. All of our programs are designed to teach and promote the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. In order to continue to provide quality programs and facilities at reasonable prices and proved more than $165,000 in financial assistance annually, we are engaged in several fundraising opportunities. There are many ways you can help support your YMCA and all gifts truly make an impact.
- Annual Strong Kids Campaign
Your unrestricted donation helps provide programs to those who otherwise couldn't afford to participate. The YMCA needs you to help children grow up happy and healthy, to support families in their efforts to be strong, and to make your neighborhood a safer, healthier, better place to live and work. The Annual Support Campaign is held each year in February, but donations are welcomed throughout the year. - Heritage Club
This group is compiled of individuals who support the mission of the YMCA of San Diego County and its branches through gifts to the Endowment fund. Our greatest need is long-range financing to ensure the longevity of our services. Remembering the Downtown YMCA through an endowment or bequest ensures our financial strength and prevents your estate from being eroded by taxes. Create your legacy today through one of the following methods:
- An outright gift to the Downtown YMCA Endowment Fund of money, securities, property, or other marketable assets.
- Naming the Downtown YMCA to receive a bequest in one’s will or living trust.
- Naming the Downtown YMCA as the beneficiary of life insurance.
- Naming the Downtown YMCA as a remainder Trust, Gift Annuity, Pooled Income Fund, IRA, or a gift of a personal residence with a retained life estate.
