Emelia
Hi, my name is Emelia. I’ve been in the Downtown YMCA Primetime After School Program since the 1st grade.
I’m glad that me and my sister have a chance to be in the Primetime program because it has helped us. When my parents were getting divorced, I didn’t want to go to school and I lost my focus. I just didn’t want to know anything about school. I didn’t want to study. That’s why my mom wanted me to be the YMCA program and it has really helped me.
Now, I am about to start the 7th grade. I have won the Spelling Bee two years in a row and I am the president of the school.
Everything I am today I owe to the teachers from the Downtown YMCA Afterschool Program. They have given me a lot of support throughout. They have helped me concentrate on my work so that I can do a good job. If I hadn’t been in the Primetime Program, I would be home watching television. I wouldn’t be doing my work, participating in the Spelling Bee, or volunteering as class president.

- Annual Strong Kids Campaign
Your unrestricted donation helps provide programs to those who otherwise couldn't afford to participate. The YMCA needs you to help children grow up happy and healthy, to support families in their efforts to be strong, and to make your neighborhood a safer, healthier, better place to live and work. The Annual Support Campaign is held each year in February, but donations are welcomed throughout the year. - Heritage Club
The Heritage Club recognizes and honors individuals who include the YMCA in their estate plans. Through their foresight, these dedicated donors assure the YMCA's greatness for tomorrow by establishing their commitment today.
